TENANGO DEL VALLE, STATE OF MEXICO*
Just two weeks after becoming police chief, Israel Arnés González was gunned down by seven gunmen while driving his patrol truck. Two black vans blocked the roadway, and the 7 gunmen opened fire.


GUERRERO
The remains of a dismembered woman were found in plastic bags in a vacant lot. There were no legs or chest. The head was in another bag, and her arms, cut into pieces, in a third bag.
CANCUN, QUINTANA ROO
Three members of the Zetas were arrested for extorting money from street vendors in the hotel zone. It is estimated there are more than 500 street vendors operating in the zone. One of those arrested was the subject of a bulletin from the MX. Marines.

MICHOACAN
The Knights Templar cartel placed narco banners in eight municipalities in the southeast of the state, declaring war on Miguel Angel Treviño, alias Zeta 40 or Z40. The message accuses him of killing migrants heading to the US and urges people to provide tips on his locations.

TLANEPANTLA, STATE OF MEXICO
Five suspects connected to the LFM have been arrested for executions and threats against various officials. Among those arrested is a man with the nickname of ‘El Pantera’.
COALCOMÁN, MICHOACÁN
Mexican Marines on foot patrol observed a slow moving box truck. The driver tried to speed away when he saw them, but then stopped when ordered to do so. Inside was found about 800 kilos (1763+ lbs.) marijuana.


REYNOSA, TAMAULIPAS
The PGR (attorney general) announced that in July, federal forces seized over 18 tons of marijuana and cocaine, 263 vehicles and arrested 210 offenders.
AHOME, SINALOA
State police and military recovered 2 stolen trucks. One had a tripod for a Barrett .50 caliber rifle, and other firearm related items. Also found were two way radios.

TRES VALLEAS, VERACRUZ*
On Friday morning, assassins shot and killed Martín Mena Salazar, who had been municipal police chief until a few days earlier. Reports are that he had resigned due to death threats.


CHIHUAHUA*
A state police commander and his state police bodyguard came under attack from several gunmen while driving. The Commander, 35 year old Gilberto Quintana Ruiz was killed. His bodyguard was state police agent Guillermo Rivas Alderete who was wounded.

NEZAHUALCOYOTL, STATE OF MEXICO
Three men were killed Saturday morning, and their bodies left in the street. Beside the bodies was a message.
